Perfect for pulling fibers off of hackle stem.
I feel one of my life experiences qualifies me to comment on the quality of this "instrument." In my military service, I was a USAF surgical scrub tech. I scrub for an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat surgeon). We often performed surgery inside the ear with tiny instruments that had to be precise for the tissue we were repairing inside the ear. Now, all these years later and with dozens of fly-tying tools on my tying bench, I have to say that these tweezers from Renomed have the same level of precision in the closing jaws, including the overall instrument. I would say they match the quality and precision of those surgical instruments. The tweezer is a pleasure to use. A little note: the red bands on all my tying tools are for easy identification when tying in large groups at tying gatherings.
Used the FT4 Hackle Fiber Stripping Tweezers to pull the herl off of the quill. The tweezers are precise and are perfect for stripping quills for the average non-commercial tier. But this tool if you want a quick and easy way to strip quills for a low volume operation.
These tweezers are great for general use and awesome fly tying desk tool to remove feather barbs.

Have have multiple Renomed fly thin tools. I think they are the best tools available for tying.
Very nice precision tool. Made stripping a peacock quil very quick and easy. Also works great for loading a small pinch of dubbing into a dubbing loop. Sure it will have many more uses as I work with it more.

Small diameter and slippery materials are a challenge to keep hold.

I've never used tweezers a lot in tying but these are something else. The wide grip has a ton of uses, and make life a lot easier, especially when stripping feathers. Super handy _ will get more use than I had anticipated.
Even the smallest hackles are easy to strip with these wide jaws. It makes quick work of such a delicate operation.
